"A Normal Day in Pikine" is a documentary short film directed by Zhong Ying that focuses on the daily life of a Muslim family in the suburbs of Dakar. The film showcases scenes of domestic labor performed by each woman in the family, as well as moments of cooperation among neighborhood women during the preparation of a wedding reception. Through delicate cinematic language, the film seeks to illustrate the harshness and burden of women's domestic work, while questioning the oppression and exploitation they endure in a patriarchal society.
